Look - Carven Men's Winter 2012

Carven designer Guillaume Henry has already garnered a cult following among girls who love his preppy, subtly sexy, totally irreverent take on French bourgeoisie style - think Catherine Deneuve in Belle de jour meets Opening Ceremony. Appropriately enough, Opening Ceremony was one of the first stores in America to pick up his two-season old foray into menswear.

For Winter 2012, Henry is offering men some terrifically trim and cropped tailoring in moleskin or sharp cotton, wool duffel coats with puffer sleeves, and nubby, cable-knit sweaters with contrast ribbed sleeves, all in beautiful shades of ink, marine, port, rust, and slate. Impressively, Henry has already injected the year-old line with a distinct, confident viewpoint and a sharp merchandising plan, and I'm eager to check out the line once it hits stores.

Carven menswear is available at Barneys New York and Opening Ceremony
