Last year's Fashion Girls for Japan sale raised more than $250,000 to aid in the post-tsunami recovery effort. New York's designers answered the call to action by donating samples to the cause without hesitation. Shoppers responded by lining up for hours just to get in. This year's sale should be equally successful: the roster skews towards downtown designers, many of whom are CFDA darlings, and menswear is included this time around. You can thank Julie Gilhart, formerly of Barneys New York, for rounding up the crew, especially since most of the names rarely (if ever) hold their own sample sales. I'm gunning for the Acne Wall Street Jacket, going for $330, half-off retail.
